How to prepare your Visio diagram for animation with Unistep

To animate a diagram, you first need to define the processes (called “streams” in Unistep). Each stream is made up of steps. A step can be a single Visio shape or a group of shapes. A diagram may contain several streams, and a shape may be assigned to different streams.

1. Select the shapes in process order

First, select the shapes on your Visio diagram in the order they appear in the process, then associate the selection with a stream button.

The order in which you select the shapes defines the order of the steps in the stream (the process).

2. Assign the selection to a stream button

After selecting the shapes, press a stream button (1–9) to assign them.

3. The stream is defined and highlighted

Press the STOP button to return to normal display. The defined stream will be highlighted.

Once a stream is defined, you can use the toolbar buttons to add or delete steps and shapes as needed.

You can now animate the stream using the arrow buttons!
