Types of Processes

When exporting animations, Unistep distinguishes between diagrams with linked streams (drill down) and non-linked streams. In a linked stream, the control flow continues from one process to another in sequence. If a diagram contains only non-linked streams, Unistep animates and exports each stream independently. When a stream is linked to another, Unistep can follow the link, either horizontally (“serial” — steps on the same level), or vertically in drill-down mode (to a sub-level — see more explanations here).

Multi-stream Diagrams

In this type of diagram, you define multiple independent processes for later animation using diagram shapes.

  • Display processes step by step to understand their behavior over time.
  • Overlay multiple processes on the same base diagram to see how they interact.
  • Share animated diagrams with teammates; if they have Unistep, they can also animate and modify them.

The same shape can belong to different processes.

Select a process stream with one click — and watch it come alive.

Drill-down Processes

In this mode, a process is linked to other processes — either horizontally (serial mode) or vertically in drill-down mode — allowing you to explore hierarchical levels in detail.
